TO ADD A WIDGET:
On most devices:
1. Long press on your home screen.
2. Go to Widget item from the list.
3. Select Wifi Hotkey and Widget.
On some devices:
1. Press central button to enter your application drawer.
2. Select Widget tab on top.
3. Select Wifi Hotkey and Widget.
You can now set your widget to change color to display different WiFi connection status (e.g. WiFi enabled but disconnected from network). Thanks to Eric Ackermans for the suggestion!
