Public holiday - Independence Day of Ukraine (in Ukrainian. Nezalezhnosti Day of Ukraine) - celebrated in the country annually on August 24, 1992, after the adoption by the Supreme Council of the USSR, "the Act of Independence of Ukraine." This event is considered to be the date of the formation of the Ukrainian state in its present form.
