Musnad al-Kabir or better known as Musnad Ahmad is one of the nine books of hadith which is used as the main reference for most Muslims, especially those from the Ahlus Sunnah group. This book was compiled by Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal.

Imam Ahmad compiled this book based on a friend who converted to Islam earlier and had a more important position in Islam. He started with ten friends who were guaranteed to enter heaven, then the badr expert, followed by the ba'it ridhwan expert and so on.

The very monumental book Al-Musnad Al-Kabir (hadith encyclopedia), contains no less than 27 thousand hadiths. This is the masterpiece of the Imam and the best rated hadith research.
