Thank you for looking into the world of Kb’s Day Nursery. We hope you understand our style and agree that children are confronted with so very many experiences in their few months from birth to leaving familiar surroundings to attend school. At Kb’s, curious minds are stimulated, hesitant steps are supported and quiet voices are listened to.

KB's Philosophy

Each child is unique and we believe everyone should be treated individually. Our primary goal is to help all our children become confident, kind and friendly with a big appetite for learning and adventure.

Learning Experience

We seek to create in each child a feeling of wellbeing, which is a good place to be, and by achieving this we get true participation and involvement of all the children.

At Kb’s we care for children from three months of age until they leave to attend school. We are also registered to have children up until the age of seven so there is the opportunity for holiday and after-school placements.

The young children (those under two years) have the first floor of the building, their own garden, an all-surface play area and a Wendy house. We don’t have more than 15 of these little people at any one time so that they each receive the care and attention they need.

The older children (two years plus) use the ground floor of the setting. They have three rooms including a dining room shared with the younger children, an extensive garden with a variety of equipment, a playhouse and an undercover all-weather outside play area.

Kb’s Day Nursery, like all preschool settings in the United Kingdom, is governed by Ofsted. We are assessed by certain criteria set out in Ofsted’s Guidance to the National Standards. All staff follow the statutory framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) the aim of which is to give each child the best possible start in life and to fulfill their personal potential. This goal dovetails very well with Kb’s own mantra: we will care for your child in such a way that they are able to express themselves, feel secure, listened to and encouraged.

Each child is allocated a key person who liaises daily with their parent/guardian. Such communication means ideas, stimuli and key events in the child’s life are regularly exchanged and the parent/guardian is encouraged to be part of the very busy learning and development curve every child experiences at our nursery.

Continuity and consistency are important and both are evident and practiced at Kb’s. The children will always have the same approach when offered snacks and meals and will experience the same routine for toilet and hand hygiene requirements or for coat and shoe storage in the boot room. They know where to find the reading books and where their own drawer is with their scrapbook and pencil case. They know that they must wear boots if the grass is wet and if they want to go out into the garden in their bare feet it does mean taking their socks off! With each child supported to have a sense of wellbeing and security, they are open to the adventure in the bigger picture.
