This book was compiled by an Egyptian cleric, one of the professors at Al Azhar University, named Sheikh Ali Ahmad Al Jurjawi.

This book consists of 2 juz, juz 1 contains around 200 pages and juz 2 contains around 300 pages for a total of around 500 pages. The author tries to invite readers to understand all the teachings of the Islamic religion through critical reasoning based on the postulates of the Islamic religion and also natural law (science). In section 1 the author explains the purpose and wisdom of Islamic teachings relating to faith and servitude, namely explanations about monotheism, prophecy, ubudiyah, etc. Then in juice 2 the author explains the aims and wisdom of the commands or teachings related to family law (marriage, living, inheritance, etc.), mu'amalah (transactional) law and criminal law (had, ta'zir, qishos, etc.). Apart from that, the author also explains various opinions of world figures regarding a topic of discussion regarding the wisdom of implementing a teaching.

Among them, those contained in the book Hikmatut Tasyri' wa Falsafatuhu written by al-Allamah al-Faqih Syaikh Ali bin Ahmad al-Jurjawi al-Atsari al-Hambali (W. 1380 H/1961 AD) are as follows:

1. Thank Allah Ta'ala

Fasting is a form of thanksgiving to Allah. Because absolute worship is the servant's gratitude to God for countless pleasures.

2. Maintain trust, do not waste or neglect it

The command to refrain from eating, drinking, and anything similar to these two, applies during the day is a mandate from Allah Ta'ala which is our responsibility. A trust that demands toil and difficulty that indeed defies human desires and weakens the body's limbs. Therefore, when a human does not move from loneliness in a condition of hunger and thirst, he will try to fill his body with energy. This situation opens up the opportunity to eat and drink without supervision, which results in betraying the trust and the right to receive punishment. So, by forcing yourself to endure the pain, you should try to maintain this trust, rather than accepting painful torment in the afterlife.

3. Clears the Heart and Cleanses the Soul from Animal Nature

Animals have no purpose except to eat, drink and something for survival such as food, water, intercourse, and so on. Then when humans refrain from this, their hearts will be clear and their souls will be clean from animal nature, then they will rise to the level of the angels. Because of this wisdom, humans will carry out other acts of worship with sincerity in their hearts and souls free from the stain of doubt.
