Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed is the Executive Chairman of Desmims Broadcast, the parent company of DITV and Alheri Radio, which was established by his late elder brother, Khalifa Baba-Ahmed in 1992. In this interview, Dr Baba-Ahmed spoke on how the late Khalifa secured the licence to set up the first private television station in the country. He also spoke on why Alheri Radio sticks to broadcasting only in Hausa, DITV’s plan to go on satellite and its 11 million-strong audience in the North-West.How did the idea of the DITV and Alheri Radio start?
