One of the meanings of the words Ven is sin, kata means destroyer and adri means hill. The destroyer of sins to grant self-realisation is Venkatesha on the highest seventh hill Venkatadri. Other hills are Neeladri, Anjanedri, Vrishabadri, Narayanadri, Garudadri and all the seven hills are considered the seven hooded adisesha being the Sri Kalahasti at the mouth, Ahobilam as back, Srisailam as tail and Tirumala as its head.

Temple looks as a mini universe evolved around its creator being the main deity. On sides it displays sculptures of evolution life of animals, trees, humans and demi gods. The splendid deity expresses sama drishti (equality), complete love and peacefulness covering all living beings.
